So where are you going. I asked Toby as if I couldnt figure out the answer my self. It was night, and the moon and stars were out and twinkling like they would in the best of dreams. None of your business. He replied, and hopped from one boulder to the next and then again like he was a human rabbit. Ill tell the sisters. I told him, but he probably wouldnt care. He was fifteen going on sixteen. They would send him out to the field soon anyways because it didnt seem li

IgloosInriq bragged that he was hot stuff for weeks after he pulled that stupid necklace out of a seals belly. He insisted it was a gift from Sedna, as though the sea goddess gave two shits about Inriq and hes been wearing the thing ever since. My ice. He told us all calmly, puffing out his chest to better display the sparkly clear stones. Ice is what youre standing on, dipshit. Taliriktug told him and shoved him so he fell on his ass. He got up before Aariak walked by. He wanted to impress her, but we all kept telling him he needed to takeIgloos

MarcyMarcy had been reading again. This time under her bed with a flashlight because she liked how the light pierced the dark, though she wished she could read by firelight like in her stories. Under her bed did well enough. Her mother wouldnt let her take candles into her room anymore since a month ago when she caught her best dress on fire while crawling in the closet to read. He licked the excess slug slime from the tip of one of his spider fingers and resettled his self in his usual crouch position under the humans porch, scraping his unbroken horn along it. Grinded splinters sprinkled his head. The smell of rot, cabbages, and grasshoppers was infused through the air from the mud he sat in and his own filth rolling off his saggy skin in the dark musk of his den. The slits on the end of his bony snout flared at the wisp of the childs liquid dandelion scent leaking between the worn gray woods cracks and his folded ears gave aBelieve: Prologue

011. smileThe fire dances in the grate as I slump in my chair, a cigarette carelessly suspended between lazy fingers. My heart is barely beating, my breathing is shallow, my eyes are half-closed and I am trying not to think of anything, to just exist in a state of static inattention. It feels as though I am thinking (or rather, not thinking) through a particularly stubborn cloud of smoke - and not the calming nicotine type. More like the noxious fumes of burning plastic. The sensation is not altogether unpleasant, as it adds to my attempt to clear my head. A piece of ash drops from my extended cigarette onto the apron stretched across my lap, and I do011. smile

So you were born, and that was a good day
Someday you'll die, and that is a shame
But somewhere in the between was a life of which we all dream
And nothing and no one will ever take that away
